Experience
Administrative Law
From 1995-1999 Mr Skinner was a part-time judicial member of the NSW Administrative Decisions Tribunal, General Division. He conducted hearings into and decided many cases reviewing administrative decisions of the NSW Government.
He continues to appear regularly in many administrative tribunals, including those associated with marine law, transport law (including licensing disputes of professional drivers), veterans affairs and police matters. Mr Skinner also appears in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal in judicial review applications.

Criminal Law, and Intentional Torts
Mr Skinner is very experienced in criminal law and practises extensively in the field. He has appeared in all NSW courts in trials of indictable and summary charges, and in appeals. He has appeared extensively before Royal Commissions and other investigative bodies involving criminal law matters. He regularly advises government and regulatory bodies and private clients on criminal law matters and issues involving the criminal law.

He has particular expertise in white collar matters. His expertise in criminal law has also led to him acting extensively in professional disciplinary matters and in civil matters involving intentional torts.

Commissions and Inquiries
Mr Skinner has appeared regularly before the Independent Commission for Corruption, Parliamentary Committees of Inquiry, Royal Commissions, Special Commissions of Inquiry, the Ombudsman’s Office, the Australian Crime Commission, the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, the Australian Securities Commission, the Crime Commission of NSW, private inquiries and coronial inquiries.

Employment Law
Mr Skinner frequently appears for private and public clients in all federal and state courts and industrial tribunals concerning employment contracts, industrial disputation, disciplinary procedures, workplace discrimination and harassment.

Occupational Health & Safety Law
Mr Skinner is very experienced in occupational health and safety prosecutions in NSW in particular, and has also appeared in Victoria and Queensland. He regularly appears for prosecutors and also has conducted many defence cases. An examination of Industrial Reports will reveal many of the leading cases since 1998 in NSW have been either prosecuted or defended by Mr Skinner.

Professional Conduct
Mr Skinner has extensive experience in this field particularly in relation to discipline of lawyers, doctors and veterinarians.
